Will it break my theme?
It adds no theme code. Translations go into Shopify's own translation storage, the same place Shopify's free Translate & Adapt app uses. Your theme shows them the normal way.
Will it overwrite translations I already have?
On day one it locks every existing translation. After that, it locks any text changed outside Shopix Translate, and runs skip locked text. You can unlock any line.
I use Translate & Adapt. Do I have to stop?
No. Both use the same Shopify storage. Keep editing by hand there. Shopix Translate sees the text changed outside it, and locks it.
What does it read?
Store content: products, collections, pages, menus, policies and theme text. Metafields only if you allow them. It never reads customer or order data.
Will it translate my brand name or my URLs?
Only if you want it to. Add names to "Keep as is". URL handles are off by default.
What if I uninstall?
Your translations stay in Shopify. They're yours. To remove them, use "Remove everything this app wrote" before you uninstall.
Does it switch languages or currency for shoppers?
No. Shopify's language selector and Markets do that. Shopix Translate makes the translations.
